Transitioning to cows milk

So my girl is nearly 11 months, she has cows milk with her porridge/breakfast, she only has one bottle before bed. How do we go about going from formula to cows milk? And how often should they be having cows milk? First time mum here 🙈 Please only answer the question and not lecture me about what i should and shouldn’t be doing regarding stopping/starting formula/milk.

We did one bottle of cows milk in the day where his other bottles were formula

Little one is now 18 months and he has 2 full bottles (9 ounces) of cows milk, in the morning he will have weetabix with cows milk and other products such as yoghurt/cheese which are dairy

@Aqsa thank you, is there a certain amount they should be having? She only had one bottle so not sure if I just replace that bottle or should be adding additional bottles in? X

@Traynie i cannot entirely remember what my health visitor told me but i believe there is a certain amount of dairy they should be having in the day.

My little boy had one with breakfast & one before bed from the age of 12 months, but we have now cut out the one before bed, so he only has 1 in the morning.

We just straight swapped to cows milk and she loved it. I don't think they HAVE to drink any cowsill as long as they are getting calcium in their diet from other sources like cheese and yoghurt. I have heard of some mum's mixing formula with cows milk and increasing the cows milk gradually. So say 75% formula/25% milk, then 50/50 then 25/75 before going 100% milk but my little girl wasn't fussy.xx

My little girl still has cows milk before and after sleep times as she sees it as a sleep/wake habit that we can't quit! My brother and his wife offer milk throughout the day with their girls as they think it's better for them but they do wonder if it impacts on their appetite a bit... Do what works for you really. If she only has one bottle, I personally wouldn't introduce more bottles and try to swap to a different style cup asap. Again my 3 year old will not accept anything other than a baby bottle for her milk 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Nicky thank you for your advice, what kind of cup should I be offering her milk in? She’s a foodie and loves her solids but she does enjoy her bedtime bottle, be nice to hit switch that one and only bottle over. Like you I don’t think I’d mix formula and cows milk, I’ll just do a straight swap and see how it goes. Thank you again x
