Gmail queued?? RANT

Honestly pretty pissed off right now. I applied for the childcare subsidy(which is a looooong process, takes up to 8 weeks to hear if you're approved or not) and received an email asking for additional documentation. All good so far. So, I reply using Gmail, send everything through on October 29th. I decided to check the status, come to find out Gmail never sent my email! Queued it says. Nothing I could do to remove the email from that status. Google says check data. I'm on wifi why would I need to check data ffs?!?!? Such a pissoff. Had to eventually send via ol' faithful, aka Hotmail. Lol. Gmail wasted 10 days of my time. No notification letting me know or anything! Now I'll be lucky to hear by Christmas if I'm approved for subsidy or not. Guess my kids aren't getting much for Christmas because that money was supposed to help. FUCK YOU GMAIL!

This is very frustrating! Can you sign up for your local toys for tots?

@Brianne I'm not sure! I will look into it. I just feel bad bc if this hadn't happened we would have been fine 😩 I feel like I'd be taking from other kids if we did that 😔

Just remember toys and things come and go. There are other ways to make memories.

@Brianne so you don't gift your kids anything for Christmas? I never said that memories wouldn't be made in other ways, but it would be nice to be able to afford to have my kids open 1 thing.

I'm divorced and one year I wasn't going to have the girls Christmas day. I went all out got so much stuff. (My dad gave me money) But they don't remember what they got 3 years later. But they do remember that we tricked Santa into coming a day early. I called all my parent friends and asked them to borrow their Santa calling dust. I did this in front of the girls. Told them don't worry I will give it back because mine will refill before you need it. And then I wrote a note from Santa about how they were naughty girls for tricking him but because they were so clever they could keep the gifts a day early.

I didn't say I don't gift them anything. Just meant that it doesn't have to be much. Keeping the joy going is what they will remember is all I meant. And if you can't even afford 1-2 small things I wouldn't feel bad signing up for the toys for tots. Sorry I wasn't clear. I was just trying to help.

If you have no money for presents, you're not "taking away from other kids". You're using the program as it's meant to be used.
