Great staff but poor rooms lol. Very old furniture but great doctors and nurses.
My nurses in labour and delivery were excellent. Can not say the same about my nurses in postpartum though. Day nurse was alright, but I absolutely HATED my night nurse. Rude, didn't give me my pain meds, was super aggressive with my daughter when having to take a drop of blood to test blood sugar, would respond when I'd call for help.
@Taylor sorry about the night nurse being aggressive and rude, I've heard good things as well.
I had rockstar nurses during my delivery and interestingly I had the opposite experience from Taylor in postpartum as my night nurse kept the lights low, brought me ice packs, changed diapers and the day nurse charged in and woke us up from naps repeatedly. Tbh I had two difficult interactions in L&D in the week leading up to my delivery, but I spoke up and was apologized to by the head of the department and the staff involved. So do not be afraid to advocate for yourself (at any hospital!) and if you can’t, ask someone else to do it for you ;) but overall the staff was lovely!! I also agree - furniture/rooms are old, but you’re not there long. Bring your own pillow! I should note the hospital told me they are doing a major reno/update soon so if that matters much, you could check when that’s happening. On a side note, I would avoid their regular emergency unit like the plague. It’s scary. Go to Sunnybrook or Humber!
the EU is such a disaster😮💨 was there last November and the service was slow and terrible. Thank you Brit, I sure would advocate for myself anytime and hopefully my stay would be for a short while! ❤️
I didn't give birth there, but I did have my appendix out there several years ago. Staff was amazing, especially nursing staff.
