My son had something similar happen when he hadn’t pooped in like a week and a half or so and his doctor (plus my research) stated that breast milk is easier to break down and absorb so sometimes there isn’t any waste
Hi there, my friend has recently gone through this. Her 8 week old LG is EBF and she took over a week to poo recently! The doctors did prescribe her something in the end that helps loosen the stool and after 10 days her LG finally pooed! It's completely normal though, especially with EBF babies 🥰
We tried gripe water for mine! It did helped.
My doc said they’re just absorbing all the nutrients so there’s no waste. No need to worry as long as baby is acting normal and tummy isn’t hard
My first baby EBF would poop once every 10-15 days from 0-4m without fail. If you’re concerned she’s uncomfortable you can try a warm bath, gentle tummy massage in a clockwise motion and bicycle legs. Also if you have one a frida windy might help get things going. It is normal - I expressed my concerns to every dr/midwife/HV every time - they all told me the same thing
My first EBF after about 3 weeks was only poo’ing once a week untill he started solids. We went through consultants and doctors but in the end it was concluded that he was just absorbing the good breast milk and there was minimal waste. If your baby isn’t in visible constipation distress, it could just be that x
I’ve read about this and it says it’s completely normal for EBF babies. Some can go a week without pooping. It’s good you asked your midwife and GP and if they’re ok with it then I’d try not to worry
