I always tell everyone to think positive, be open minded (epidural or natural) and go with the flow. I was induced (unplanned) with my first son. Doctor broke my water. I went in on a Saturday evening (5pm-6pm) and gave birth the next day, Sunday at 8:00am on the dot. It wasn’t so bad as I thought it would be. You got this, mama! 🫶🏼
My induction wasn’t planned but two days before my due date they realized I had gestational hypertension and needed to induce me. I went in late Friday night and had my baby Saturday evening. It can be a long process but mine was thankfully so smooth and not as long as I expected. I’m very thankful for it looking back even though it wasn’t in my plan, I’m usually a planner/super organized and was glad I didn’t feel rushed or disorganized, I felt much more prepared. You’re going to do great and I’ve got you in my thoughts for a happy healthy delivery for you and baby!
My waters were broken at 9am and I gave birth just gone 6pm that same day, no oxytocin drop needed either It was a good experience that was calm, don't be afraid to ask for what you need for pain relief, I don't have anything to compare to but the contractions were intense
I think it depends on what induction method you have and the reasons for it. I was overdue and my cervix wasn’t dilating, so I had the propess. I had 4 hours early labour, 1 hour active labour, and 20 mins pushing. I’m very grateful for such a smooth birth as induction was never something I thought I’d need; so I guess I’d say I found my induction to be a positive experience. Wishing you all the best
I was induced twice. Both times from foley bulb to delivery (had the drip as well) labors were under 6 hours.
I had the pessary on the 29th of October, then they kept that in for 24 hours, so the next day they broke my waters at around 10pm but then had the oxytocin in too before they broke my waters. By 23.34pm, she was born. Was in labour for 2ish hours 😊
I was induced on a Friday evening and had the baby by Saturday evening, it all depends on how many induction stages you need, how long it takes them to get you a space to have your waters broken, how long your active labour lasts etc. I only needed the balloon which is left in for 12 hours and had a really smooth rest of labour and a positive experience. I hope it all goes well for you xx
@Danielle hey thank you I’m having the balloon! How does it work does it pop your waters or dilate you more?
I kept getting told at least 2 days! In reality I had the first gel inserted at 11pm, contractions started just after midnight and he was born at 3:49am! So not even 5 hours! Definitely be prepared for both eventualities of long and quick because I wasn’t and was left quite shocked and it took a lot of processing! Was that quick by the time they believed me that I was in labour I was 6cm and was too late for anything but gas and air!
With my first I had the foley bulb started at 7pm on Sunday it fell out at 3am on Monday started pitocin at 5am and had her at 8:45 Monday evening. With my second I got to the hospital at 9:30 am started pitocin at 11am had her at 7:10 pm same day.
I had the pessary on the Saturday evening and was ready to have my waters broken early afternoon on the Sunday
@Kamari 💛 I’m having the balloon to! Did you have to be dilated to have it inserted? I’m wondering if I’m dialated at all
@Emily I’m having the balloon to! Do you know how long they tend to plan to keep it in for before they try something else
I was induced by having my waters broken at 2.10pm. No drip. Had baby at 7.30pm. I made sure to keep moving around walking and bouncing on the ball. No lying down. Pushed for 20 mins. All the best! Baby is almost here. ❤️

I was induced at 38 weeks; I had high blood pressure-hypertension-early preeclampsia signs and my son had FGR due to my anterior placenta. My OB at my a doctor appt told me to head to the hospital that day. By the time we settled in and had dinner it was 8pm, I got the first dose of cytotec to help me efface (cervix opening), second dose at 10 and then my water broke. I had contractions through the night and was only 5cm by 3am, got an epidural when the contractions overwhelmed me, was 7cm at 4:30am and then by 5am the doctor said it go time your gonna push this baby out! Lol so total time from start to finish was 9 hours. Everybody is different, just try to relax and rest, breathe and ask for what you need. Advocate for yourself and baby. If it doesn’t feel right, tell them. Good luck Mama! 💙🩵
@Sophie they told me 12 hour max I think. It’s been a bit. Mine fell out around an hour. All of my labors are extremely short though.
I had the drip, was put on about at 8am 2cm started feeling active labour around 12:30pm and was checked at 1:15pm was 6cm by 2:00pm I was 9cm, pushed for 15 mins at 2:45 and she was born 😍!
I got induced and my son was here the next afternoon
I had the the drip. I was put on the induction ward at 2am. They started the drip at 10am, I gave birth at 19:58 that evening. Although my second stage of labour was looooong. I was induced because my waters broke and my contractions weren't progressing as we'd hoped so I was 36hrs between waters breaking and birth but that includes 12hrs at home hoping they'd progress on their own!
