@Michelle you definitely lucked out with that! She doesn’t go to daycare and I start work on the 20th so I want her to get a grasp. My mom will be watching her so I’ll buy a potty for my moms house
Not sure how true this is but I heard it’s best to take the child’s lead on this and not force it on them
I did Elimination communication then day training. Are you using a potty or a seat reducer on a big toilet? If she's on big toilet she might be scared. If she's on a little potty she may want privacy. I'd start with a naked observation in the backyard, see how long it takes her to pee. First thing in the morning would be best so u have an idea when to take her. Beginning will be alot of you taking her. Bout every 45min till she gets the hang of it and consolidate pees. Also definitely start teaching her how to mount her potty and manipulate her clothes. My girl wanted independence faster than I could teach her. But now she can take herself, pull her own pants and undes up and down. Still working on wiping. Cuz lately she's been rushing the process it seems to get back to playing.
We are attempting Thanksgiving weekend! I read Oh Crap Potty Training and feel pretty confident with the tips from that. Sounds like you’re already off to a great start!!
Mine has an older sister that he’s been copying at bed time. I got the old floor potty out and he sat on it and went right away. I think it might have been lucky timing. But he’s gone on it 3x since then. I also ask him if he wants to sit on it when I change his diapers. I asked daycare to try this too. So now if I see him grab at him self and try to take the diaper off, we ask if he wants to sit on the potty and he will run to the bathroom.
