It’s not more common with IVF but it is a numbers game. Anecdotally my first transfer did result in a loss but we have since had 2 kids.
Wishing you all the luck! 🥰 try and keep a positive mindset. I was so extremely lucky and got pregnant with my first fresh transfer, currently 37+3 pregnant with my baby boy. 🤞🏽🤞🏽 xxx
For us we had “unexplained infertility” however I think the reason for loses may be because people go for IVF for one reason or other and therefore more complications so all depends on why people are having IVF try not to think too deep into it! My first frozen transfer worked and he’s now nearly 9 months (I wasn’t allowed a fresh transfer) good luck 🤞🏼c
Thank you all for your comments 🥹 it’s hard to go through this process be close to egg collection, no doubt worry about the numbers of fertilised, blasts, then worry about if transfer will go ahead, then the 2WW then hopefully a positive AND THEN more anxiety. I’m definitely ahead of myself as not at egg collection yet but will keep a positive mindset. Thank you all, this is such a great community x

I got pregnant with 3 rounds ivf then lost at 7weeks 9 week and 10 weeks. These were all with 5 day fresh transfers Then 4th round they did a frozen double transfer and it worked I've not got 2 twin boys who are 9 months old.
Often people need IVF when there is some sort of issue in the first place. Also people tend to seek support when they experience challenges. IVF success numbers are pretty impressive these days statistically speaking as the protocols evolve. Don’t look at other people’s experience and just stay positive, it’s the best thing you can do. ☀️🐣
I think with IVF people always take a pregnancy test so more losses are caught. There's this thought that we don't really know how many pregnancies result in loss because some women don't know that they were briefly pregnant. I don't think I was ever pregnant before IVF but I rarely tested so could have had a chemical. My plan was to do a fresh transfer but I had signs of OHSS and was converted to a freeze all. My first transfer was successful.
Not more common to have a loss just more common to notice a loss. Statistically many many pregnancy end in a chemical or early loss but ppl just think they had a weird heavy period bc it was natural conception.
Good luck to you. This is my first IVF cycle as well but we will be doing a FET (frozen embryo transfer) in January due to me being at risk of OHSS. We also did not do embryo testing but we are in the states so it was an option. Honestly, I feel like any fertility treatment can be a hit or miss just like natural conception. But the success rates for IVF is higher. Good luck to you!
