Is he rear facing, definitely don’t forward face in the front seat. Also check your cars Manuel on if a car seat would be safe in the front even. My daughter recently was in the front seat, but it was because it was a front seat only truck and she was being watched while I gave birth.
Also you looked at the law in Arizona, what are the laws on all the other states you are driving in?
I'd definitely attempt tetris with his belongings. At 3 I really wouldn't let him be in the front. I only just started letting my 7yo in a booster sit in the front if I have no room in the back.
@Jessica that definitely sounds like a smart option but sadly isn’t one for me. Being that I’m a single mom ( no help ) I don’t have the financial resources to pay for such luxury or anyone to ask around me.
@Cindy his car seat is only a forward faced car seat, he’s 3 years old so he doesn’t fit into a baby car seat anymore sadly 😭
@Cindy I also couldn’t post more then 1 screenshot but the law is exactly the same as Arizonas law
@Angela that sounds like a very reasonable thing but as I’ve stated it’s not something I have the luxury of doing ( I left behind a lot of other important items already but the things I’m bringing I can not leave behind because of medical and financial reasons)
Yeah it definitely is easier than it sounds. How far do y'all need to go? If you got pulled over, I'd hope you'd get someone reasonable that can see you have no other choice.
@Angela so since I did my research so far I have found that legally (as long as the child is properly restrained) It is not against the law but also not recommended. It’s a 5 hour drive for me and I’m leaving at 2am which means I’ll arrive at 6 or 7 am (trying my best to avoid traffic that way its less crazy on the roads hopefully)
I meant to say easier said than done, but my baby brain took hold smh. Sounds like a good plan 👌🏾 just remember to stop every so often so y'all both don't get cramped up from the drive. A nice stretch for you both.
I personally wouldn’t but I understand this is a one off and you don’t have a choice. I’d also recommend making sure the passenger airbag is turned off for that journey so it’s much safer for little one x
@Kirsten omg!!! ThankGOD FOR YOUR COMMENT! I was just leaving and immediately pulled over to do so!!! Thankyou!!!!
You can get rear facing seats that will fit a 3 year-old, that would make little one much safer it’s an option to get a new seat
@Angela thankyou so much for taking the time to share! I definitely will do so and keep us in your prays please and thankyou ❤️❤️❤️

@Sophie something I can not afford at the moment 🥺
If you can turn the airbag off with a key, you’re able to have them ride in the front seat rear facing
I'm not judging, and I understand the situation. But it's truly not a risk I'd take. Especially as I'm assuming it's a long drive. I'd try to find someone else making the trip who could fit it in their car, mail stuff to yourself or even see if there's a way to rent a small trailer or something.
