@Mou that makes sense. But aren’t you supposed to pump and dump after a drink or wait two hours to nurse?
lol this is something I would do! I’m that one of those mom who would post a picture of myself holding a glass of wine while nursing! Please don’t take what ppl are “POSTING” as “real life” It’s literally just picture, please don’t read too much into others posts. Don’t judge ppl based on a photo ( this why I don’t post pictures at all) because ppl build their own narratives in their heads based on a moment in a photo. The truth is u have no idea what happened before or after that photo was taken & it’s not healthy to assume the worse :) sometimes ppl are just having fun and taking funny photos! Don’t read too much into the “moments” ppl chose to post online most of the times, it’s not real :)
Pumping and dumping does nothing to lower the alcohol content. The breast milk alcohol content is based on your blood alcohol level. If you drink one drink, it’s less alcohol content in the breastmilk than grape juice. So, with that knowledge, it’s fine to have 1 drink and breast feed your baby. From what I remember, you would have to be something like 5 times the legal limit for your breast milk to have enough alcohol content to affect your baby and make them drowsy. If you are drinking that much though, someone else should watch/feed your baby lol. The alcohol level peaks at an hour after you feed the baby. So, if you are concerned about any alcohol, just wait 2 hours after your drink to feed your baby.
I've never seen anyone post a pic like that.
You don’t have to pump and dump. I haven’t seen a pic like that but I think I would take it as them making a point that they can drink wine and nurse.
@Incog no you most definitely don’t need to pump & dump or wait 🤣 I wouldn’t post a pic like that but I’m also currently feeding my baby, scrolling peanut, and.. having a glass of wine!
Science says one glass of wine while breastfeeding is totally fine so no need to judge or shame
It's irresponsible NO MATTER WHAT. Sorry but I don't condone or tolerate drinking while breastfeeding.
To show that you can still dine out and have a drink despite being a mother. So many people are led to believe that it’s wrong to even have one drink or label as a “bad mom”. To me I love those photos because it gives hope in a sense to others who may think they “aren’t allowed” to go out
@Violeta💕 must be nice to be perfect 😂
@Rachel I take care of myself while breastfeeding. I haven't taken one sip since I had the baby☺️. My baby's health is more important than my own selfishness. If you call that perfect, so be it. 😺 *I have cravings I just simply resist them. Sorry but this is something that I cannot switch my stance on.
@Violeta💕 if a mother pre-expresses milk before going out and feeds via a bottle and only has one drink it’s not harmful at all. Even on the NHS website it said occasional social drink is fine if you either use a pre-made bottle or wait 2 hours before you feed. It be different if someone is getting drunk or having more then one and not following these guidelines
There is also a chance that could be non alcoholic wine so can’t always assume it is an alcoholic beverage. I have mock tails that if you say a photo someone would think it was alcoholic
@Sarah I understand but it's a hard no for me. . . .

Your breast is not a faucet from your throat. If you’re drinking WHILE nursing then the alcohol is going into your stomach and hasn’t been digested yet, therefore there is no alcohol present in your milk. “Pumping and dumping” is only for if you’re binge drinking. A single glass of wine will not affect your baby. We all have the same Google, maybe do some research instead of judging.
@Violeta💕 I cant because my stomach would let me know (acid reflux). But I enjoy my Dr. Pepper hahaha
"Not consuming alcohol while nursing" is the safest option for your baby, via Google . Ultimately it's about what's best for the baby 👶🏻
@Sarah I'm a recovering alcoholic which is probably why I'm very passionate about it. Everyone has their lifestyle. If people follow guidelines and that makes it safer that's the best thing. ♥️ Ps Dr pepper is yummy. I don't want to sound like a hypocrite because I had a caffeinated drink a couple weeks ago and felt extremely guilty. I decided that I wasn't going to do that anymore.
I wouldn't take the pic but I have definitely sat feeding my baby and drinking a glass of prosecco. I don't feel the need to share this all over social media and I wouldn't do it out in a restaurant but in my own home where nobody can judge me, I don't see the problem
@Violeta💕 fair enough. The US and UK may have different advice on this 👍
@Dana 🦅♥️🤍💙 I wasn’t judging. I was asking a simple question. Why they post it online. Google doesn’t answer that. I’m aware of the guidelines and my question was clear. Sorry if you feel judged, but that wasn’t what I said or my intention.
Don’t know. Don’t care. I’m minding my own business and you should too
They post it because they like it and they want to post it. Why does anyone post anything?
For the “Karen’s” of the world I think 🤣 to wind them up, and make em bite!
@Marie lol heheheehe the Karens always get “triggered” cuz they are unhealed from something & honestly those types of ppl need therapy! I think as long as ppl know social media is there, then ppl need to understand that not all content is for them! When we make content (the ppl that get it & the ppl that don’t; don’t) ppl live with “triggers” so if ur a little “unhinged” some social media “content” can really trigger someone to overthink. I’m not wired like that bt I’m sure a lot of ppl are. Some “Karens” are so weird they will overreact in real life smh 🤦🏾♀️ it’s like they just needed some1 to yell at! lol 😂 it’s never that serious
Guessing this is to show they are still living and having changed 🤷♀️ Maybe to cause outrage between the people that don’t know the wine she is drinking will not show up in the milk until later so the baby is nursing on good milk in that moment.
I would imagine they're posting about the enjoyment of being able to have a glass of wine after holding off during by pregnancy...
