@Fiona When you were unwell how did you let them know? Did you phone? Sent a letter? I just don't know if they will accept a last minute flight as excuse but if I say I'm not well and they don't need proof then could be better?
I just called and told reception that I was choked with the cold. I asked if they wanted a doctors letter and she said not to worry about it. They will have called about 60 people and they need 12 I think it is. If they want a doctors letter then it won’t be hard to get either. Tell your doctor you can’t cope with the stress of it all. My doctors are keen to hand me out sick lines and I have to remind them I’m self employed so don’t need one lol
hey, i just emailed them and said i was in the first trimester and was dealing with morning sickness and things and they excused me right away. Took about two days for them to email back but other than that they just said i didn’t have to do it

You need to let them know you can’t go. If you don’t turn up then it holds everything up their end. I’ve been called 3 times and I got out of it all 3 times. Once I was booked on a holiday so I called and told them so and they removed me. Second time I was unwell. I didn’t need a doctors letter. But I called to tell them. The third time I did go cos I wanted to do it but I actually couldn’t hear a word the judge was saying (hearing loss) I thankfully wasn’t called that day but was to return the next. I went to their reception before I left and explained I couldn’t hear and they have now exempt me for life. Just let them know
