Baby walking

How can I get my baby to walk? He doesn’t even stand independently. What can I do to help? He can crawl everywhere, walk with a push walker with minimal support, walk across the sofa holding it with one hand, pull to stand , cruise along everything, if I’m standing he can use my leg to stand too. But I’m worried he isn’t standing independently or even just standing if I leave him to stand in the middle of the room with no support. I know I shouldn’t compare but I genuinely thought he’d be walking by now

No advice but my baby can’t either and I’m not worried 😊 Genuinely until they’re much closer to 18 months I really wouldn’t be worried it’s way more common than you think not to be walking at this age, they all get there in their own time x

I really don’t think it’s something you can encourage really. Cooper was walking with his walker for moooonths but showed no signs of walking independently. He never even independently stood before he walked? Then one day he just walked. Out of nowhere. My sisters son didnt walk until 15 months, they all will get there eventually! ❤️

I could have written this post myself!!!

Me toooo! I’m trying not to compare because they thrive in different ways! x

If I’m honest, your little one will get there in their own time however I found with my little girl to just give her lots of time to walk round furniture without getting too involved and letting her work things out. She couldn’t stand unaided or anything, and one day at a baby group when she was distracted by bubbles, she took 2 tiny steps forward and then from there her confidence grew. Now she’s practically flying around the house by walking (and sometimes running and throwing herself around!)🤣
