Choosing hospital for birth

I’m thinking of changing from my local hospital to one that’s slightly further away to give birth. I’m going to speak to my midwife at my 25 week appointment. Does anyone know the process of doing this? Is it hard to change hospitals or easy? Would all my future appointments then be at the new hospital, or only birth?

Im currently in the middle of moving hospitals, with the one I'm moving too, all I had to do was ring up there maternity booking number, ask to change over, they took my name and details and booked in for a booking appointment as they have too to go over it all again since obviously they cant connected to the other hospital were I originally had my booking appointment, I've got my new appointment this coming week and then my care will be transferred after that appointment I believe x

@Darcey thank you, that sounds quite straightforward!

Once you have booking appt at the new hospital the rest of your appointments will be with them too :)

I was told that you had to move before 24 weeks in trust but I am in wales. I was told you just need to let your midwife know and she will let the relevant hospital know x

@Angharad Ashcroft oh! Ok I didn’t know that, I had better get a move on. Thanks! X
