Does CMPA milk always cause reflux ??

Little boy has been given CMPA milk from the doctors (pepti 1) and doesn’t have reflux. After reading up on the milk etc on here it seems it causes majority to get reflux? Do I need to start with a thickener or will it possibly not give him reflux? I’m so confused? I don’t want him to be constipated from the thickener but also don’t want him to get reflux???? Help

Both mine had reflux so bad with it they had to take medication.

Mine didn’t have reflux. Symptoms vary a lot. If you notice symptoms then start but no need to if he dosnt have symptoms

My baby is on pepti, had horrendous reflux before allergy milk and worse on it so has thickener however my friends baby didn't have reflux before allergy milk and had zero issues with it after. I think reflux is a very common symptom of cmpa and the thinner milk makes it worse, it's not that the milk actually causes reflux.

Allergy formula is thinner which is why it can be harder to stay down. I would start with a thickener, it made a huge difference to my son. Just use as it states on the packet.

My little boy is on Pepti 1 and we’ve tried thickener with him which didn’t work. We’ve tried Gaviscon again didn’t work. We are now trying omeprazole which is a pain trying to get him to have it 😫 He’s nearly 6 months x

My baby had reflux and was on Omeprazole (with Pepti 1). I avoided adding thickener though as just didn't want to make her constipated again! She's been absolutely fine! Is now almost 6 months old, no longer on any medication and takes Pepti like a dream with barely any vomiting/sick up. Most babies grow out of reflux by month 4, so I'd honestly only use a thickener or meds if ur baby actually needs it
