My baby has been able to figure out how to get on all 4s and sways back and forth, moved her legs but is still cautious to move her arms... I saw a video on YouTube the 3 ways to help baby crawl, one is to put a towel underneath their tummy, then when they get on all 4s to put toys they really like in front of them so they reach for them, and then just helping guide them
So my baby was army crawling. I learned that I needed to strengthen their quads by getting them up on their knees. Like to pull up to a toy, table or something. This helped us a lot. I also just crawled around a lot to play peeka boo and stuff. Showed them how fun it is to crawl on all fours. Hope this helps.
Baby will be 8 months next week and is in the same place as yours..I think that'll get the hang of it we just have to wait. I feel like it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks.
With my daughter she was having flexibility issues. We did bicycle kicks and stretched her legs up gently towards her chest for a bit . Then when she started getting on her hands we would gently start positioning her legs. She hated it at first but then started to do it on her own rocking. Then I am not sure if she didn't like the feel she started to bear crawl. I would crawl around her and now she tries to crawl the easier way more now
My twins are 7.5 months and are the same way. I didn’t even know my son could roll over AND back until the other day. He just had no interest in it but his twin sister constantly rolls but hasn’t mastered crawling yet. I agree with giving it some time. They might surprise you! It’s funny what interest them vs what they’re able to do.
@Sherissa How did you know she had flexibility issues? I think my baby might have some in her legs. When doing tummy time she won’t bend her legs and whenever I try to put her in the crawling position she has a hard time bending the knees.
@Natalie Do think it helped putting her directly on the floor instead of a playmat?
Yeah I think so, the playmat can move and make it difficult to keep balance. Just make sure baby has some pants on so their knees are okay
@Incognito We noticed she was having issues sitting. She was really stiff and hated to sit for periods of time. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about but my poor baby was frustrated and I wanted to help her. The doctor suggested what we did. Also once she started showing interest we noticed that she was sliding with socks and pants so until she got used to it we let her be free... As long as she was warm
See this was my baby but out of know were she started doing it all and just scooting and out of know were started crawling I say give her time
