The weight of it all

Hey mamas you know life is a lot and right now it’s really a lot and I’m just feeling the weight of it all…besides that I’m trying to take care of me and keep my health in order…I don’t usually rant but I’m seriously frustrated with my grocery bill right now because I was budgeting and shopping all of my food at Walmart but my diabetes type 2 was getting worse and worse…so I decided to make serious changes in the quality of food me and my family ate…that was about 6 mos ago now my diabetes is in remission I believe and my blood sugars after eating are below 180 , fasting is about maybe 70-100…my highest lately has been 169 after eating 3 cookies 🤭 but that was a treat fresh baked and I tend to eat healthy…and this is all without the 2 meds I was on to control my blood sugar…my body has been managing it fine on its own for the past 2 weeks….when my diabetes was really bad it would go up to almost 500 and anything I ate above 200 so this is a great healing for me I cut out a lot of foods with preservatives, artificial dyes, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, canola/vegetable oils etc so my foods are more expensive for example like grapeseed/avocado oil is. More expensive but it’s really good for you and I only fry fish and chicken like 2 times in a month, also I only drink spring water now and lots of it…we go through like 10 cases of spring water in a month so yea I’m looking at $530 budget for this month and I’m just really upset 😭 I buy higher quality meat and dairy as well and that also has been transformative in my health I believe reducing inflammation as well as buy organic produce as much as I can…they are giving the animals so much crap it’s making us sick…idk what to do because diabetes is a killer and no one wants to be diabetic for life on medications….they tell us these chronic illnesses are incurable but I know they are lying to us…it’s really the toxins in our food that’s killing us😭 I am also on a journey to lose 90lbs

I am so proud of you for taking control of your health!

Hi! I definitely can understand the frustration with cost. I try to prioritize because I can't afford to get everything organic either. For me, I focus on making sure anything in the "dirty dozen" I get organic. And then I also try to find a lot in bulk to save $. Costco has a pretty good selection. There's also azure which is online but I haven't tried it yet. You might also be able to find a local spring near you or investing in a water filter of some sort may be more cost effective. It sounds like you're doing awesome though!!

@Jessica yes thank you love…the produce I buy is in the dirty dozen but you are right I have to prioritize but it’s hard with a toddler because she needs healthy snacks as well and is a picky eater…what do you buy in bulk from Costco? I may have to start going back there again
