As a grown adult who makes her own rules, do you casually use cuss words when speaking to your parents: *not cussing at them but just in conversation

Nooooo and when I do the look my mum gives me 👀😂 or she’ll say do you mean “ … “ 😂

I do on accident but usually correct it like “I was like what the fuck…I mean I was like what the?” just makes me feel better, my family isn’t that classic but it started to bother me when I was 19 maybe and I just wanted to be respectful

I definitely do. It's just a word... Though I'm trying to stop using curse words altogether now so my baby doesn't use them when she can talk 😅

If it's casual talk yeah there's a few curse words. But if we talking (gossip, calling out, being giant goofy balls) then yes we're cussing . But we will try to hold our tongues back if the kids are around 💀

I try not to towards my dad or the vast majority of older adults, but I do not remotely filter when I talk to my mother.

Oh yeah we all work construction… it definitely doesn’t feel weird because when we talk it feels like talking to friends.

At my big 40 years I won’t even repeat a swear word if I’m quoting someone to my mum. My brother does and I gasp for him but she doesn’t respond. I just can’t do it. My son tried to do it with me. Nope!

My husband is much more lax about them, but I tend to use them MUCH more when I am angry, annoyed, irritated. Rarely when I’m in a good mood do I curse. Usually it’s only damn if I’m in a good mood lol I don’t use them AT people though. Just seems rude.

The first slip up I was terrified lol but I was 23 and living on my own and they just continued the convo like it never happened so we just started from there lol

I can swear in front of my mom casually if I’m pissed off because she talks the same. But my dad? No he’ll get upset with me.

My mum used to hate it from me and my sister but accepted it from my brothers. Now it’s just used between both of us especially when pissed off

My mom didn’t care id cuss around her in private she said it’s not lady like in public but my dad I cuss time to time and he always says sometimes you gotta let it out. But I don’t cus in front of elders and other ppls kids

I am estranged from my mom now but when I wasn’t, nope 😆 definitely felt like a trap/set up!!!

My mama and I are best friends, we both curse like sailors when we talk but our relationship has always been very unfiltered my whole life. My dad is a pastor, and I try not to curse around him out of respect but that’s also how our relationship has been. Sometimes I’ll say damn or pissed if I want to show that something really upset me but that’s it

All the time lol. My mom didn’t really care if I cussed as a teenager either so that way of speaking is super normalised for me.

I don't talk to my father much but when we do we don't bother censoring. My mother and I, though, are very casual with each other and we cuz back and forth during our conversations, especially if we're gossipping or shit talking 😂

I might spell out damn or shit quoting what someone else said but cussing when talking to my parents/Aunts elders in my family is highly disrespectful

We all cuss on my side, my partner cusses infront of me but absolutely no cussing in his parents house and I get in trouble if i do 😮‍💨 I find it hard to remember when i can and can't, and now LO is almost 1 im just trying to stop altogether but im finding it hard, it's how i talk.. also partners definition of swearing is different to mine. I say cussing is "hairy fat f@kkin boll0cks on that demonspawn goat-legged little bugeyed, hawknosed snot goblin of a squirrel!!" And he thinks "crap" is cussing.
