They say not to try until 37 weeks onwards as nipple stimulation can start labour (though obviously you would have to be doing it a lot!) Also not everyone produces during pregnancy so don’t panic or stress too much. I’m like you and have zero signs at 35 weeks, just got to let nature takes its course at some points and it might only come in once baby is actually here due to the hormones and their stimulation x
I'm in the same boat I'm 35+4 weeks and there's literally been no signs of anything. I'm being induced at 39 weeks due to GD and I really want to at least try and get a bit of colostrum going to help him once he's born. All the women in my family have massively struggled with this as well due to physical issues so if I can't I would rather know so I don't make myself miserable trying to force it
I had no ‘signs’ as such. I just started doing the method they suggested and hey presto a little came out. Need to massage for a little while. I just sat all cosy in front of TV.
Thank you for all your advice 🫶🏼🫶🏼
I couldn’t express any colostrum at all during my last pregnancy. Once I had given birth it came through straight away and managed to breastfeed for 2 years. Everyone’s body is different, try not to worry over it yet :) I’m nearly 36 weeks and there’s nothing coming out again.
Don’t worry too much! I haven’t got sore boobs and I’m 36 +5 and my midwife gave me the go ahead to collect last friday. I massage my boobs for 3 minutes after my shower, then do the above comment. They’re still not sore, but I’m collecting at least 4ml everyday! Make sure you’re drinking lots of fluid during the day too xxx
Make sure you’re relaxed too! And try not to stress! 🩷
I made a post about colostrum and how to increase the hormone prolactin in the body if you think it would help x
Try the above comment, but prior to that I would try having a warm bath and giving your breasts a good massage. This can help the stimulation. If you're ever concerned, maybe worth speaking to your midwife. Maybe they or your health visitor could refer you to a breast feeding/lactation specialist. Also don't be discouraged if only a drop or two comes out. A new borns tummy is the size of a 5 pence piece, so you won't produce a lot at first ☺️
