Was going to say same as the above, have you got any role play doctors stuff? Or books about doctors/hospitals? When he's calm, well etc could you take him there and just sit in the waiting room for a few minutes or show him outside? Just a bit of exposure with no expectation as there's no appointment etc. if he's had previous not nice appointments it's likely just become an association with that environment x
I look up kiddie shows with doctor’s appointment to watch. So there is a bit of expectation and then I explain that it will be her turn next. Also, we do the suggested above. Play pretend doctor at home. I also brought my daughter to my own appointment so she can observe. The same goes for the dentist. Xx
Getting my daughter her own doctors kit and letting her be the doctor and helping her understand more helped her loads!
@Sydni No Sydni..I will buy the doctors kit..but he watches shows where Peppa goes to visit dentist and Cocomelon doctor visits song...I keep talking to him about this..he loves putting thermometer under his arm pit ...but seeing the doctor ( stranger) doing that to him scares him alot and he started screaming...ime and my husband has to hold him very tight to get him checked...it's traumatizing
Hello! We had the exact same situation until a few months ago… he would scream and scream it was awful! To be fair to him whenever we have taken him he’s been in a lot of pain (he has a few issues!) but recently he’s just ok with it! I find playing doctors at home helps a lot and letting him put the ear thermometer in my ear and telling him “it doesn’t hurt” and then letting me do it to him helps a lot! Keep going mama ❤️
