A little fan from tik tok shop!!

I didn’t pack a lot (which I regretted). If I was going again I would pack easy slide on shoes, light lounge wear (x2 as I blead on my only set), little fan as hospitals are hot!, something easy to chuck on like a little dressing gown, lip balm, pads, shower gel, toothbrush ect. Different size baby clothes (my girl came out 9.5pounds so her newborn coming home outfit didn’t fit. Nappies for baby, blanket for baby. Maybe an extra pillow. Water bottle and snacks. Your comfy going home outfit. Comfy big knickers for you when you. My midwife got me to put my knickers on with a large pad she gave me for like the first 10 hours of labour. X

All of the above, Frida disposable knickers are comfy! I took my pregnancy pillow and dressing gown which my partner ended up sleeping on (no beds or reclining chairs overnight). Also maternity pads, breast pads and nursing bra if you are breastfeeding.

Slippers , snacks and drinks only if you are not having a planned csection. No pads take bladder control nappies for yourself. If you take pads you WILL leak. A lot depends if your breastfeeding so to keep it short. Pjs WARM socks (again if you have a csection you won’t use this) take a clear small bag with travel size toiletries (much cheaper to fill them up yourself and then u can chuck after) take a face wash with you and Vaseline- doesn’t seem a necessity but it will make the world of a difference. Please take a small fan I got mine off temu and if I only had to take one thing to hospital it would be the fan. LONG charger the plug to the bed is quite away if u take a regular charger u wont be able to go on ur phone while it’s on charge. 3 newborn outfits 3 0-3 outfits and nappies. I made up one Babygrow one vest one nappy in sandwich bags so it was a grab and go situation. Atleast one bottle even if you think you are going to breastfeed. A comfortable bra and a whole box of breast

Pads. I took breast pads and no bra and I was leaking everywhere and it was dripping to my csection. Personally wouldn’t bother with a coming home outfit. I wore clean comfy pjs (new ones so I felt excited to put them on) and got straight into bed when I was home. Try not to take tooo much because whatever u forget the hospital will have or you have someone to get it for you. I was there 5 days and still overpacked and it made it feel claustrophobic in my little ward room.

Perineal bottle though my wee never stung but good to have. I did take my iPad but never used it sat on my phone instead but it would be good. I was in Labour 24 hours I forgot I had it or I would of watched friends lol

I literally took a suitcase 😂 I packed comfortable but good looking pajamas (best decision, made me feel more human), absorbent underwear so I didn’t need to wear fucking diapers, my own pillows and blankets, non slip socks, flip flops for shower, SNACKS AND DRINKS, my ipad, the Hatch and of course all the basic care essentials

I also packed a lot of clothes for myself but in the 6 days I was there, I wore hardly any of it after I was induced as it was too hot and I preferred to just be in a gown so maybe pack a nightie or gown that is easy to put on and off - one lighter and one heavier depending on temperature.

I’d recommend buying some of your own maternity pads as the ones that come in the kits aren’t great and the hospital might be a bit limited with how many they give you. These are the same I was given from hospital and were great - Blue Dot Sterile Maternity Pad... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CK8DPXRM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Also the disposable underwear can be washed a few times so don’t feel like you have to buy loads of pairs beyond the kit as when you get home you can wash and reuse since you’ll be using a pad anyway.

The BEST thing I did was prep two food and drink bags - one had teas, squash and honey and sugar in and the other one had protein snacks, sweets, chewing gum etc anything I needed to boost energy and keep my mouth wet.

Thank you so much everyone ! Xx

I noticed that I have had to just pack my stuffs from all 3 deliveries because the hospital pretty much provides everything. Just in case, do one change of clothes for the day of discharge and some diapers.
