@Elena do you know how many ml you was able to get from a session or how did you go about it ? Was it a hospital grade pump or regular?
2-3 days for me but I didn’t pump. I woke up and had soaked the bed with milk. It didn’t stop leaking until I stopped breast feeding a week later.
First pump I pumped 60ml (30ml from each breast) I then pumped again in the evening and got another 60ml. The hospital had a breast feeding expert and I expressed that I didn’t want to breast feed only express and she showed me how to use the machine. The midwifes can also help you. I then had a pump for at home when I was discharged on day 5. I did have a very big supply though as I was leaking from 18 weeks pregnant so unsure if this is why. On day 4 I pumped three times that day and on day 5 I started the 3 hourly pump sessions.
Took about 3/4 days before my supply to come in (but I made enough colostrum for feeding in those days beforehand). Didn’t start pumping till the end of the first week and only on the alternative breast whilst feeding baby on the other.
@Sarah how much of colostrum you haded in a storage?
@Remigija 0. I didn’t make any at all before birth, I just had a lot of help off my midwife in recovery and she got me going. I’m pregnant now with baby 2 (due next month) and not a drop again either. Once the placenta is detached your hormones really kick in and get the job done xx
