Gestational Diabetes
It’s my second pregnancy and I got diabetes again 😔 I’m eating really healthy but my morning levels are high (8-9). I’m eating as I’m told before bed and taking insulin and it still spikes so much. I feel so nervous about it and confused on why it’s spiking when I’m doing everything right. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I could control it?
It sounds really tough to be dealing with this despite all your efforts, and it’s totally normal to feel frustrated and anxious when things don’t seem to add up! Blood sugar levels can be influenced by so many factors—like stress, hormones, and sleep quality. If you haven’t already, it might be worth discussing these morning spikes with your healthcare provider, as they may have specific recommendations or adjustments you could make. Some people also find benefits in experimenting with the timing of their evening meals or snacks, or even incorporating a gentle activity after dinner to help regulate levels. Remember, you’re doing a great job by staying proactive about it, and you’re not alone in navigating this!
