Baby stuff and pet hair

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby and was wondering how diligent I should be with making sure no baby items have pet hair. I've been keeping them off the baby furniture best I can but I washed all the baby clothes and put them away but the storage I'm using has open tops (due to moving soon, this is a temporary arrangement until I get a dresser after moving) so most things end up with cat hair by proxy. I'm wondering if i need to rewash the items or if the baby will be exposed to the cat hair anyways so it'll be okay?

I’d probably just keep the cats out of the babies room for now until you have a different storage solution. It’s not going to be a bad thing if there’s a little hair but you don’t want a ton of hair.

It should be okay. When I asked the hospital about it for my daughter coming home to a house with three dogs they said it’s actually good for babies to be exposed to pet hair just keep it out of baby’s mouth! The hair will get on your baby whether it’s from you or furniture, so just try to keep it to a minimal.

@Amberlee unfortunately the "babies room" is a large hall area outside my room so there's no way to close it off, it's definitely not a large amount, mostly just some from the air settling. Once we move in February she'll be getting her own room with better storage and no cats allowed

It’s not a big deal

Personally I never worried about animal hair. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. But if you’re worried and don’t have tops for the boxes. Just throw a blanket or towel over top to keep dust and hair out. That’s the only thing I can think of to solve this.
