Hip/Lower Back Pain While Sleeping

I’m currently spending every night like a rotisserie chicken - switching from my right side to left, from my left to my right, until morning. I can’t stay on one side for longer than a few hours because my hips and lower back ache so much. I’m using a pillow between my knees as suggested online but has anyone else experienced this? Do you have any advice please?

Rotisserie chicken made me laugh 😅 Same here! If it’s not my hips or lower back it’s my shoulders, I must wake every hour or so 🙈 I have a pregnancy pillow which helps marginally but other than that don’t have much advice as I’m the same! Xx

Yes I am the same. I am doing physio as my hips are not aligned. Talk with your midwife so she can refer you straight away to obstetric physiotherapist as that’s probably pelvic griddle pain due to pregnancy. For me sleeping without my wedge pregnancy pillows actually helps at the minute x

I have this now and i had it with my first and didn’t find a solution per se, I ended up sleeping on a row of flat pillows as it just got worse the heavier I got 😅 we have a different mattress this time round which has a cushioned topper built in, hoping that’ll help but it’s hard to tell yet. Hope someone else has a better solution.

Lol.... I'm the same. I've got pillows in different positions on the bed (hubby bless him has moved into spare room), just so im not spending time manoeuvring pillows and then properly waking up. I end up just needing a quick massage by hubby in the morning to sort it out. I also do yoga stretches in bed / go loo to stretch out my legs if it gets too much.

Try all the mattresses in your house, I was waking up in agony on my normal mattress and have found the cheap sprung spare mattress to be a life saver! I've also started wearing dresses as I noticed the leggings seemed to be making some of my side muscles sieze up too, not sure how much that has contributed, but I feel heaps better.xx

Yep me every night.. rotating from left to right with a pillow between my legs.. 😂 seems to work but obvs can be hard work
