Pumping with a baby around

Hi all. My baby boy never successfully latched so I combi feed, breast milk and formula. My issue is when I'm on the pump for half an hour I can't cuddle him so it ends up being a pacifier job for a bit. How do you guys manage?

What pump do you have?

Which pumps do you have u I have 3 for different things im doing. I have my mumcozy v1 its wearable but also hospital grade and I find its slim enough in my bra that I can still pick my boys up but it still gives me a decent pumps. I think have 2 others if I need to use them but that one is my favourite. People sell them on Vinted and then you can buy some new parts for then off they’re website xx

I'm not sure if this is something that you want but if baby wants comfort while you're pumping, have you tried just latching him again instead? Sometimes babies struggle to latch early on but can latch once they're muscles are stronger

I pump almost exclusively when I'm feeding my baby at this point. I got a used Elvie (definitely overprice compared to other ones but I got a good deal on them) and can hold and even burp her with them on. It's not the most comfortable but I have also worn them while she was in a baby carrier. I also have a Zomee Z2 with the hands-free cups. I can definitely hold and cuddle her with those on but it's a little clunkier. If you have a Spectra or something like that, look at getting the hands-free collection cups if you don't want a new pump. Do be careful though as it took a little bit to find the perfect position to cuddle baby. If they kick or put too much pressure on the pumps, it can hurt your nipple.
