Hey, don’t be stressed! It’s no where near as bad as you think. The first meeting is just to get to know you in the comfort of your own home. They’ll ask you a load of questions about family history etc etc and go through a load of information, the red book and give you leaflets. They may even talk about birth plans Once baby is born they’ll do another visit where they check babies weight, height and head circumference and ask how you’re getting on and signpost you to places if you need extra support/information. They’ll also ask you about where baby is sleeping, how baby is feeding, how long/how much they feed and how many wet and dirty nappies! And may even check the cord if it’s still attached I had a third visit which was essentially the same as the one before and now I won’t see her again until baby is 1 Don’t listen to the information online, they don’t check your fridges or baby’s room or judge you on your house or anything like that xx
Just adding that they don't always come during pregnancy, mine came for the first time when baby was 2 weeks, it was all very chill. Also I got a text the week before to arrange a day and time.
I declined the visits from my health visitor until after the baby was born, they accepted and said they will visit when baby arrives. It’s my second baby so it was really pointless them coming over (in my opinion) I also get anxious and have to have my house spotless when people are over so I hated the not knowing as well as the stress of tidying for a 20 min visit 🤣
Mine is coming when I’ll be 36 weeks x
