Talking???

Are they meant to be saying actual words at this point? Mine is not saying anything but the occasional mumma which I don’t even think he knows what that means tbh

Thanks so much for this post mine doesn't know much either, and i was getting worried. She sings along to some songs, its not clear but she babbles some tune that sounds similar, I ask her wheres her head she touches her head but not always lol she knows what a lion and rabbit do so does the sound, I ask her to get me the ball so she picks it up or throws it towards me she copies sometimes but that's about it lol she counts with me cos I do . Doesn't know what it is really. Her dad's taught her "give me my.money" and she's been babbling that all day loool. Occasionally she has said this this and points at things when she wants it.

Mine says hiya a LOT, and ma when he sees something he wants, but no other sounds that could be described as words. He definitely understands a lot, like @Hanna says, because he follows instructions to touch his hair or throw the ball or put that in the bowl, things like that, even when I'm not pointing or anything. I do feel like he's not saying much though, so I'm going to ask the health visitor about it, we're due a visit this month. I suspect it's one of those things that doesnt worry them too much till 18 months. I worried a lot about some other milestones, and he's got there with those, I was just being impatient, so this is probably the same.

Mine say go in the right context and can make the sounds of a few better letters. He knows his body parts and can point to animals but no not saying any words
