20 month sleep regression?

My LO has been fussy/irritable for the last weeks. Throwing himself on the ground in a fit, acting mad about almost anything and everything. He also woke up yesterday at 5AM scream crying (his normal wake up is 7) He just woke up again now. What is going on? We have not had a nighttime sleep regress for months upon months.
