Yes that^ nipple to nose. If that isn’t working you should consult with a professional. They can give you different tips and tricks. You could always try a nipple shield too. I had to use one for the first few days bc my breast are so big and I don’t have nipples that really stick out much. But after the few days my nipples adjusted.
Look up the flipple technique on YouTube. That helped me x
Have you tried a nipple shield? That might help out baby. I used one with my first born for 8 months til he latched on his own without. My second, used for about 2 months and he can latch on his own now too.
Look up the Thompson Method. Or on YouTube look up how to get a deep latch. You have to position baby a certain way to get baby to open wide. Also, make sure to have your baby evaluated for any tongue tie and top and bottom lip tie

You've had some really good advice on latching so far so just thought I'd add for the sore nipples if you haven't got them already i highly reccomend silver cups for healing. They worked so much better than nipple cream for me.
@Cat also, nipple balm before and after feeds. The lansinoh gel cooling pads that you can freeze and heat are amazing. They saved me. Also, try not to be too harsh on yourself. It’s worth seeing someone for support around the latch if there is a group or a service that offers this. If you are in the U.K. your H/V. Midwife can support. Physiologically your nipple might be a big big for babies mouth. Additionally sometimes with big breasts, placement can be tricky. If the baby is on the nipple then you need to reposition / you will end up very sore. Xx
Where are you based? Do you have a local BF support service? There is an acronym called CHIN. Nose to nipple and then when the baby’s mouth is wide open. Guide them to the breast. Your nipple needs to be hitting the soft pallete in their mouth. Which is at the back, that’s what makes it sore. Don’t move your breast to baby.
