I've had a blood test yesterday to find out babies blood type too. My midwife just said it will be an injection at 28 weeks and birth and then be extra careful if bumping the bump 😊
Hey hun I’m D negative and had a blood test, my baby has the same blood type D negative which means I didn’t not need the anti D injection. In my previous pregnancy I did have to have the anti D injection and it was in the top of the leg, felt a little numb afterwards but was fine other than that. Don’t worry about it though, the anti D injection, if you need it, is exactly what your body needs. I read the leaflet last week and it’s made out to be scarier than it is so just rest assured, even if you do need it, you and baby won’t be affected at all 🤗 I hope this helps xx
It doesn’t matter what letter your blood, this is the case for any negative blood type (rhesus negative) I’m O- and my daughter is O+ I had standard injections at 28 weeks and after birth I also had one extra at 14 weeks as I had a fall. Currently 12w with baby #2 and just waiting to get a bit further so I can find out this babies blood type xx
i had this done, was just a blood test, if your high risk you get a phone call in a week and if low risk you get letter within 2
I'm 0- and made my husband do a blood test some time ago to find out what his blood group is. Luckily he's A- which means the baby's blood will be also Rhesus negative. If the father of the baby (or sperm donor) is D-negative, then the D-negative mother (if the egg was her own), doesn't need the anti-D injection ✨️
If you're rhesus negative and baby is rhesus positive then you usually have 2 anti-D injections which stop your body from creating antibodies in the event of your blood mixing with baby's. It's not really anything to be worried about these days, as long as you get those 2 injections to protect any future pregnancies and avoid complications. I've got O- and my 3 year old O+ so we went through that process with no problems. Waiting to find out currently if baby no.2 is rhesus + too
