Epidural back pain

Hi All, I had my baby girl in April and had an epidural which went smoothly and I had no issues with it. However, I am now 7 months PP and I have really bad back pain which I’m assuming is as a result of the epidural. Sometimes standing for too long or walking for certain length of time can cause my pain to worsen. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m going to speak to the doctors and maybe try to go to physio.

I had similar pain/symptoms and it was actually due to my abs separating during pregnancy but never going back together. PT and strength training fixed this. Hoping your pain is fixable like mine!! Good luck!

Yep I have this pain from my 1st and that was almost 6 years ago I have scoliosis (mild) (didn't find out till I had my 2nd baby) so with my 1st they didn't really put it in the right spot so mines from that

It's a less than 1% chance of it being the Epidural or spinal that causes it. It's more likely from being pregnant and your abs separating.

Pelvic floor therapy can help. Your back muscles, abs and pelvic floor are all connected and sometimes the muscles stay weak and it can affect posture which then causes back pain. I def encourage doing some PT or pelvic floor therapy

Ah thanks so much guys 💓

My little girl is 2 in feb and my back since having the epidural is horrendous 😫

I Didn’t Start Having Back Pain Until I Had Gotten The Epidural. In Fact I Had Gotten It Twice Within An Hr. My Back Is Out Of It.!!!

Kinda but it could also be an accumulation of wrong movements blah blah. I feel it when I don’t do exercise (particularly my butt because big muscle = does more work than back)

My core is really weak. Partially because of the pregnancy and partially because of C-section aftermath. My physio therapist says what’s why my back is tight

I have this too. My doctor said it could take a year or two for it to go back to normal.

@andrea can you please recommend some strength training exercises
