Exclusive breastfeeding

My LO is 7 weeks, and I am exclusively breastfeeding. I added a lot of weight during pregnancy, and after birth, i lost 4kg. I wish to lose more. I am here snacking at 1am or 3am. What can I do to lose more, and also I do my daily walk of at least 5k steps.

Firstly I would say please be kind to yourself! Your baby is ONLY 7 wks old!! I too went from 70kg to 93kg when pregnant and then went down to like 88kg after birth I was devastated I’d never been so big, the rest took me about 2yrs to get off. 1 because I could not for the life of me shake it off whilst breast feeding and I fed for 18months, and pumped for 19. When my baby was 6 weeks I started at the gym, 5-6 days a week, are limited macros and lost 1kg in 6 weeks 😱. So I stopped cos it wasn’t worth the misery. I lost about another 4kg when I stopped breast feeding. Then I trained for 6months 3x a week with weights and counted macros and lost 13kg. If you’re body is anything like mine or my friends I’ve spoken to, losing whilst breast feeding will be very hard, it’s generally a myth that one loses weight so easily. It does happen but to very few. ❤️

Your baby is so little, breastfeeding is very demanding on your body and if you need to eat you should eat. Your body took 9 months to grow a baby it's going to need a lot more than 7 weeks to recover from pregnancy and birth. And by recover that doesn't always mean your body will go back to how it was. I did actually lose weight during pregnancy without trying and without wanting to but even so, this happened from 4 months pp. I would say this weight loss was 100% down to my genetics and it's not something you can control.

Please don’t diet while breastfeeding, your body needs all the food it can get! You are still very early on and things will balance out. Just try to snack on healthy options rather than junk food ❤️

Your baby is so little! But as others have said.. I’m still feeding at 1 year and it’s almost impossible for me to drop any weight. I’m just embracing this as a season of life. Yes I’m the biggest I’ve ever been but I grew and birthed my baby and I’ve fed him from my body and will continue to until he’s ready to wean. There’s plenty of time later to worry about getting back into shape. Try and make healthy snack choices and move your body - for your health though not to look a certain way. Give yourself grace ❤️
