Pumping pain!!

I’ve been pumping for 2 weeks now and it’s starting to hurt sooo bad. Even on the lowest setting I’m in so much pain. It wasn’t like this at first, so I’m guessing it’s because my nips are dry and sensitive now from pumping. What do I do???

Check your flange size!! It should get easier as you pump, so it getting harder is a sign that something is a bit off

@Brynne this is hard for me since I have wearable pumps. So I can’t see my nipple while I’m pumping. How do i measure my nips to know what size I need?

Definitely check flange size, coat flanges in lanolin or baby safe nipple balm every time, ice nips if they’re swollen, pump on a low setting

Agree with the flange size! I made my poor nips bleed early on until I ordered the correct size. Fixed everything!

Lubrication! I use coconut oil and it has been a game changer. Seriously saved my life. I tried nipple creams but they don’t do the same as the oil.

@Alana yes me too it was coconut oil is nice and slick and the Medela ointment too
