Blankets?

Baby sleeps between us and it gets really cold at night. Do you put blankets on your baby? I would think something like a sleep sack would be dangerous?

Baby isn’t meant to have blankets until I think guidance says 1. You can get thicker sleep suits, but remember baby is regulated by your temperature in bed sharing. Blankets can go to your waist.

Depends on the age of your baby and how active/alert they are. I started putting my blanket (a thin fleece blanket) on my baby when it gets colder at night than what it started out as. However, I make sure it doesn’t go up past her shoulders. I didn’t start doing this until she was able to crawl, though. Granted, she was born in January and learned to crawl in the summer. I try to anticipate the temperature of the night and dress her accordingly. Recently, I have been outing two long-sleeved tops on my baby and socks under her 2.5tog sleep sack. I don’t like sharing a blanket if I don’t have to 😂

Sleep sacks are safe! Just need one that fits appropriately and is right for your temp. Blankets aren't safe right now

I do. But mostly because he’s good at moving things of good face and I also wake up to check on him. I also don’t put it past his chest. But as a newborn he wouldn’t gts without a swaddle or blanket on him, so I started with thin breathable blankets

I would not, I put sleep sacks on my little one and she's perfectly fine

Do a Sleep sack with hands free

My baby has a blanket and proper thick on aslomg as it's under the arms and not on top so she can't pull it on her face she's 2 months and I wouldn't sleep like that its dangerously all 3 of us sleep in q bed and im in the middle I build a Fort around her so he doesn't gall off the bed an I have my arms under her legs And my arm above her head with her blanket and sometimes my blanket

Sometimes if she's cold I kay on my back and put her on my chest on her belly making sure she has room to breathe and I put the blanket on us both and will sleep with her on me

Mine gets really hot between us so I don’t put anything on him just let him sleep in a long sleeve vest or sleep suit depending on the temp and then tuck the blanket underneath his legs so it doesn’t go over him at all but we can still use it. If he did get cold easily I would probably use a very light tog sleep sack and again make sure he’s sleeping on top of the blanket so it can’t cover him at all
