Chilly nights

Is there a way to safely warm cot slightly just so it’s not so cold when I put baby down? Poor girl is already starting to feel the chill so can only imagine how cold it’s going to get for her. She has started napping on a fleece blanket but that’s fully supervised so I don’t mind. Is this something that can be used when it drops below 16°? Or should I just put heating on?

Personally I'd just put the heating on and warm the room it's a lot safer 🙌 also take a look at different tog sleeping bags or suits

Put the heating on. I can’t remember exactly what the recommended temperature is but there’s a temperature range that they say is best for keeping baby healthy. I think it’s around 18 overnight. I won’t be letting our house go below 19 to be honest but it is a newbuild so easier to heat and retain heat. I know it’s more difficult with older houses.

Hairdryer works for us!

@Jess between 16-20 they say is safe x

If you just want to warm the mattress before she gets in why don’t you put a hot water bottle on it before she goes to bed and remove when you put her in?

@Anna this isn’t recommended as when you then lay them down it holds in the heat

I’ve got one of those teddys to put in the microwave that lays on my girls bed whilst we do story time. I move it when I put her to bed x

@Yasmin ahh didn’t think of this, will try it thank you x

@Lauryn I was aware of this that’s why I thought I’d ask to see if anyone has figured out a safer way. Thank you! X

How old is she? I suggest looking into a wearable blanket. I’ll link the one we got from Amazon. It worked sooo well for my son until we started using a blanket. Now I just throw the blanket in the dryer for a few minutes so it’s warm for him https://a.co/d/93BkWXs
