Breast Pumps

What is the best approach for getting a breast pump? Did you go through insurance or just buy one outright? If you went through insurance, how was the process? Was it worth it, or would you recommend just purchasing one at retail? Any recommendations if you have had multiple brands or just an overall good experience?

Oh my gosh 100% insurance but use https://aeroflowbreastpumps.com/. IT’S SO EASY!!!! They do all the work for you. I used them with both my babies, got free pumps and lactation classes, and they also notify you monthly if you qualify for pump replacement parts and more milk storage bags!!

For the girls that got a free one through insurance what were the qualifications? I tried using the exact website and it said that I was not eligible for a free one.

@Carly I assume it depends on what insurance you have... i have Keystone health plan east HMO

@Kelly I have blue cross/blue shield which I feel like is very recognizable company and I have a PPO which allows me to use any doctor I want vs selecting from a network. I was just very puzzled.

@Carly that is strange, i know people on a FB group I'm in have said they've worked with customer service over the phone for replacement parts so I wonder if they can help you by phone... to me worth a try since pumps are $$

I went through insurance via Babylist. Super easy! I have the Spectra S1 and love it.
