Breast pumps

Help FTM and so lost!! Do I need to get a manual and automatic breast pump?? I was planning to get the momcozy m5 but I’ve seen a lot of people say they have 2 different ones. Is a manual necessary?

As far as I can see it's not necessary but it can come in handy if you just start out. I'm also FTM and have bought a spectra s2 pump on ebay, the pump parts new from the spectra website, (I got a normal set and a handsfree set), a haaka manual pump, 2 collection shells (in case you leak and you don't want to lose the output), also medela colostrum syringes

I am not sure I went overboard with buying all the equipment 😂 only time can tell

At our antenatal classes I think they said they don't recommend using an electric one in the first 6 weeks

No, I wouldn’t think you need both 😊 I only used an electric one

With my first I was encouraged to express with a manual pump after a feed to increase my supply and offer a top up. I just bought a £20 manual and then got Elvie pumps once bf was established
