I have had round ligament pain hit like that, could be Braxton hicks potentially if that was your first experience with them.
@Briana They mentioned round ligament pain. What did you do to manage the pain? How long did it last? & yea. It’s probably Braxton Hicks.
@Kilo I had SEVERE round ligament pain on both sides but just recently started prenatal chiropractic care for labor prep. It completely went away after two sessions. If you haven’t gone to the chiropractor, I highly suggest it! This is the best I’ve felt all pregnancy, even better than peak second trimester.
@Aly Okay. I’ll look into it. I also got this really abruptly and it lasted from an 5 pm yesterday until now. Round ligament is said to only be in spurts. I’m not having the contraction like feeling anymore. Just severe abdominal pain, even while resting, but mostly from moving my legs or walking.
@Aly I’m thinking it’s pelvic girdle pain. Just my body trying to prepare for delivery.
@Kilo Oh man that really sucks. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. Yeah my chiropractor uses the Webster method and after she adjusted my pubic bones she put pressure on the areas I was experiencing pain and it helped tremendously. Every body is different and handles pregnancy differently though! I think if I was experiencing what you’re saying I would probably be calling my midwife. Very scary for sure! I hope it resolves soon for you!
@Aly Thank you!
For me it was stretching and position changes
@Briana I’ll try that. Thank you.
You can try a magnesium supplement if you haven’t yet! I’ve found this has helped with round ligament and other muscular issues. Not sure what’s going on here, but would be worth a try!
@Claire Thank you!
Oooh yes! Magnesium is super good I like the calm powder to help with cramps and restless legs at night. I also have a foot cream that’s got magnesium that really helps if it’s a leg and foot problem
Also look into Spinning Babies. The inversion is really helpful for stretching out those ligaments. Just know at this far along it’s really helpful to have your partner or someone else there to help get you up 😂
@Kilo my round ligament pain started in week 18 and has only gotten more intense. 32 weeks and now also have pelvic girdle pain and pubic symphysis pain. And nothing helps. ( i now also have varicose veins in my lady bits) It was suggested to me that it’s because my baby is already a big boy and putting a lot of pressure low down. And Braxton hicks hurt me, a lot of people say they’re not supposed to hurt. But mine do… someone else mentioned it could be prodromal labor. So that’s great. Walking helps a little , laying down, showers, belly rubs for round ligament, staying hydrated helps the most. Hip mobility stretching is good too as much as i can handle. Spinningbabies.com has really great daily stretches that are not for spinning but for optimal positioning for baby which can help take pressure off certain places. It’s $16 i think for the whole thing, you might be able to find them on YouTube. Basically everything hurts at this point i think lol. Good luck! I’m so sorry.
I used to get when I walked or baby kicked in my ribs
