Hey, I’m experiencing the same thing. I’m 21W +1 . Only started to feel baby move around 19 weeks and it’s only at night when relaxed. But the last 2 days it’s been a lot less. I’ve got my 22 week midwife appointment next Thursday. I’ve done some researched and it says it’s normal 🫤 x
@Tiffany I’ve got an anterior placenta x
@Ciera thank you, I’m going back for my 20 week scan on Friday as they couldn’t take all measurements the first time but not sure if I should have a check up prior to that x
Sometimes if you have an anterior placenta it acts as a cushion so you don’t feel it as much it also depends where baby is laid
@Fay I had anterior with my last and I didn’t really feel anything until 22 weeks. Because it cushions a lot of the movement. I ended up hooked on the monitor during pregnancy because one day I didn’t feel him at all and they told me because of the position of the placenta it’s harder to feel depending on the position of the baby too x
Thank you, this puts my mind a little bit at ease! Xx
Ditto what Tiffany said, but honestly if you’re concerned at all it’s better to call your midwife and let them check in on baby for you. Don’t take the risk of others advice on here - if you’re concerned I would check, you won’t be wasting their time. X
@Nina thank you xx
A really cold glass of water can wake baby up and get them wriggling :)
Hi Fay, I had this a couple of weeks ago. I’m 21 weeks now with an anterior placenta at 19 weeks I stopped feeling the baby mover, it was a Saturday so GP and midwife weren’t available so I called 111 who referred me to the women’s health clinic at the hospital, they said to go in and they’ll check for a heart beat but movements are irregular at this stage. At 20 weeks it happened again, on a Saturday so I thought I’d see how it was over the weekend and saw my midwife on the Monday. She told me not to wait that long again and to see someone sooner rather than later. I think go with your gut, if you feel concerned get the heat beat checked and it’ll save you some worry!
@Emily thank you! I called my midwife and she fitted me in today for a quick heartbeat check and she’s all good! 💕 I feel so relieved! xx
@Fay so happy to hear that, always best to check!
Where’s your placenta? X
