Advice

My premature baby has been told he has a cows milk allergy, so they have prescribed his milk, since doing this he seems to be getting sick a bit more, but it has now got to the stage where he seems to be choking on the sick it’s like he can’t get it all up! The doctors have said they think it’s reflux, is there anything I can do to help this as he’s choking and it’s becoming very scary!! He also constantly strains like he needs a poo goes red, kicks his legs? Any ideas on how to help this I’ve done all the massages bicycle legs etc

If it’s reflux there’s ways to help, keep your baby sat completely upright when feeding, try pace feeding so they have control over what they are taking in rather than it going down and they are just gulping Make sure you have extra slow flow teats Feed your baby little and often Burp baby during and after feed so maybe after every oz After you’ve fed baby, keep him upright for 20 mins (if you can!) before laying him down It could be that he’s straining and going red because the reflux hurts him, so hopefully doing the above will help relieve the pain a little x

@Annabelle are you insane??

@Annabelle he is premature? I’m sure baby’s aren’t allowed water? Let alone a prem baby…?

@Chloe I didn't see the prem part !!!

@Kayleigh I didn't see that part we're she said he's prem

@Annabelle you shouldn’t be giving any baby water until 6 months at the minimum
