My boy is similar age. He doesn't clap(doesn't like it when we try to use his hands to clap) or point, his wave isn't a proper wave. He army crawls, sits up fine, likes walking/standing when holding our hand, rolls bdck to front, babbles/says some words sometimes with meaning. He can't pull himself up, roll front to back (he's done it a few times but think more a fluke). I tell myself all babies are different but I have his review tomorrow x
Mines waving but not clapping or pointing
Mine is 9.5 months also. Doesn’t point, wave, or clap either. Not crawling. Not pulling up to stand. Not pulling up to seated. She only just started rolling this week 😂 she does however nearly walk unassisted and has done some steps by herself.
@Stacey yours sounds similar to my baby girl! Only started rolling this week. I thought we were the only ones! In her review however the fact she can stand and practically walk means her gross motor was off the charts so I’m sure yours will be the same x
My LB is 10.5m, doesnt crawl, pull to stand or try to move etc, he sort of claps but doesnt wave or point. So hard to not compare to other kids but they will get there❤️
These 3 are actually social skills not motor skills (to my surprise when I found out), so if you keep doing these in front of them with eye contact & a big smile, they will eventually imitate! My LO started to show a lot of interests in our ‘gestures’ since about 9.5mo (looking at our hands and arms when talking to him) and then all of a sudden he just copied what we did to him (waving, clapping)! So I think it’s just a matter of time when they move on to work on these skills x
My little boy can clap. And he puts his hand in the air which I kept hi 5ivg for a while but I think that might be a non moving wave! He doesn't get pointing yet and when I point at things he just stares at my hand!
My wee boy is nearly 2 and only just in the last 3 months he's started clapping his hands , pointing and talking loads more where we actually understand him. Every child is different the milestones are just guides I wouldn't worry
They all do different things at different times. Mine is 10 months and not clapping or finger pointing (though she opens and closes her hand at things she wants 😅). Sounds like your LB is doing great.
