@Noor thank you!!
I watched a course from big little feelings that said being able to communicate and being over 20 months is enough. Proved right for my son. We started at 24 months. x
My daughter was telling me her diaper needed to be changed and that’s when I understood she was likely to be able to be trained. It took us a week for her to figure out when she was about to pee or poo but eventually she learned to communicate it.
My son is 2 as well and I'm expecting in January so I have started started training him a month ago. At first it was very frustrating and he just wouldn't let me know when he'd need the toilet. Now he will tell me if he needs a wee or poo. Although he still has accidents or does it in the nappy. The way I started was just not putting a nappy or pants on him and looking out for signs he needed to go. He'd normally start touching down there or look worried or go to a corner. I'd put him on the toilet potty seat and he wouldn't do it. But I kept persistent. The first few times he did it on the toilet I gave him so many praises and claps. And now he isn't scared of the toilet anymore. It's taken me a month to get to this stage and I wish I started earlier because being 31 weeks and rushing up the stairs carrying a 2 year old is hard. So I say if you are going to start it would be best to start now whilst you don't feel as tired or big.
