Induction length

How long from being induced to when you went into labour as a first time mum? My induction will be booked on Christmas week when I am 38 weeks, and I reeeeeeally don’t want my baby arriving on Christmas Day!! I’ve obviously googled it and it says it can take up to 5 days! Is it as bad as I’ve read?

Unfortunately I was one of those statistics, I was booked in Monday evening but not beds available so happened early hours Tuesday morning and my little one arrived via emergency section on the Saturday. However baby became extremely distressed and my waters were leaking for 48 hours. However I know people that had babies with 24 hours as first time mums. It honestly is just down to your body and if baby is ready

I went in on Monday 8th Jan.. had all the pessasaries and didn’t go on labour ward till Friday 13th Jan.. had my waters popped and then they had to induce my contracts as I was having none, and unfortunately ended up having complications and having a forced delivery, but I know people who was induced and had them next day x

Unfortunately, my induction also took a long time, mainly due to staffing issues, and ended up being a failed induction (my daughter was born via emergency c-section due to complications). I was admitted and given the first induction method at 12pm on Jan 18th, and my daughter was born just before half 7 on the 25th of Jan. That being said, I do know people who have had successful inductions that worked quickly x

I was induced at 36w6d due to gestational hypertension. I was already 2cm dilated and 70% effaced, so they used Oxytocin drip to induce labor. I started the drip at 11:15am on the Thursday and she was born 2:36am on the Friday (~15 hours total).

I was induced at 37+3 due to GD and being on insulin had the pessary in at 1 am on Friday morning (went in on Thursday but didn't start induction till late night due to staffing) by midday I was having mild contractions nothing much more like period pains then by 10pm that night it was getting intense so took out the pessary and I was 3cm was taken to labour ward and waters brok3n at 3am by 6.30am I was fully dilated pushed from 7.30 and she was here by 8.23am such a positive experience

I was 39 weeks exactly. They induced me for 5 days and then I ended up with a C section because nothing was happening. Admitted on the 26th, discharged the day after my c section on the 2nd

I went in at 38w. Gave birth the next day. No drip needed, just two pessaries.

I was induced last month. It was my second pregnancy and I was 41 weeks. My induction process started at 11pm baby arrived at 4pm the next day, I took several naps in between that time.
