I have been married for over 6 years, but I feel like my marriage has been suffering since my husband joined the army 4 years ago. I have no history with the army and it has been a big adjustment for me. How do you be there to support your spouse when you are taking care of children 24/7 and your spouse is gone most of the time?
tbh you just DO. you have to, for your kids and to support your husband. he needs you to hold down the fort while he does his job. but that doesn’t mean you do EVERYTHING, although he works, it’s okay to ask for help and make your needs clear. you are not a robot, you are a wife, you are a mom, you are your own person too.
My hubs is in the Marine Corps and I wfh. It's hard some days but I always communicated that I expect him to do his part with childcare and house chores when he's home. And to have family time when we can.
