Would you go?

Partner has booked a “romantic” weekend away for us this weekend. We leave on Friday and come back Saturday late afternoon. It’s non refundable and we will be about 2 hours away. Grand parents are doing the childcare Today my toddler has had 2 loose nappies..it was so explosive that I binned her clothes because it was just caked everywhere. She seems fine in herself so far but worried in the next 24 hours she will become unwell. If this happens I’ve said to partner I’m not sure I want to go. If she’s unwell it would feel wrong leaving her just to have a weekend away. I’d feel like I was abandoning her. My partner argues that he understands how I feel but thinks she will be ok and it’s probably something she’s eaten. He said we have to fl as it’s non refundable and that my mum is capable of looking after a sick child. I don’t think this is just a normal weekend away either. I think it could possibly be a proposal weekend but obviously can’t say for certain. Would you go if your toddler became sick before you left?

Ahh that’s so hard! If your mum is happy to do horrid nappies I would go. You could call the hotel and explain - some are really understanding and may let you move the dates. Sounds like she’s ok just upset tummy. It will probably have passed by the time you go

@Francesca I did let my mum know she may be coming down with a funny tummy and she seemed fine with it. She’s done another bowel motion since then that looked much more normal than yesterdays so maybe she did just eat something at nursery

I hope you have a lovely weekend :)

Hope you have a lovely weekend. You should go but tell family to let you know if toddler asks for you at all if she’s unwell. It’s only a day and a half!
