Nappy changing

Anyone else’s child absolutely lose their mind when they’re having their nappy changed? You’d think it was world war 3 🙈

Yes and I have to put my legs on his arms at the moment when he’s done a poo as he won’t stay still! Lord give us strength, the shrieking goes through me 😅

I've caved in and starting giving my LO my phone to look at otherwise he's rolling around making it impossible. We've also moved to pull up nappies which make life much easier too. But yes otherwise he'd be screaming like he's being tortured 🙈

@Hollie honestly she’s a nightmare for it 😂 she’s going through a phase now of poo’ing after she’s just had her nappy changed so we repeat the cycle 🙈

@Kay I give her all sorts to play with and she just throws them and goes back to kicking off, I swear the neighbours must think she’s being abused at times but nope just nappy change time 😂

We were the same! I was handing him wipes, random toys, nappies all sorts to play with but he just threw them. Luckily the phone is still such a novelty he doesn't throw it (yet). I know some people that change their baby in front of the telly to keep them still too 😂 I feel your pain though, these babies are quite dramatic !!

Mine does that! He will only poo in a brand new nappy 😂

How is he so strong! Mine stays quiet he just wriggles away and prefers to sit or stand! I've tried wiping while he's sitting there but it's tricky! Pull ups have helped but I felt emotional about him moving into them!

@Kay I do both of these things too and my LB still kicks me away and rolls and screams! Pull ups easier for wee’s still awful for poos 🤣

Yeah! We went through that too, it’s an awful time 🤣 felt like all I was doing was changing nappies all day, fighting a losing battle with my sanity from the screaming

@Hollie please excuse me if you already know this, I'm only saying because I only just learnt this, but with the pull ups you can rip the sides to take them off easier for poos. I did not realise this for ages and was like this is impossible, until one of my friends told me 😂

@Kay yeah we do this, I only know from watching my sister change my niece 😅 he’s just so strong and wiggly sometime I have to change him standing up so it’s a struggle 🙈

Obviously each to their own but maybe look into elimination communication (ec) it's basically offering your little ones the potty. I know my lo poos in the morning so I luck out and catch most of them now. I then just offer the potty when I'm doing a nappy change throughout the day and you'll be surprised how many catches you make. Plus it kinda gets them used to the concept of a potty, so you don't have a battle later down the line. Alsooo the going in a clean nappy or going when they're on the nappy mat is kinda a sign that they are in control of their own poos and are waiting to do it. Just like we do on the loo. Xx

Yep, same here, and also even just with outfit changes!! Hard work 😂🙈

My boy either tries to roll away or kicks, or hands straight down there or undoes the nappy 🙈

Yes. It’s hell 😂
