Pregnant again after miscarriage

So today I found out I’m pregnant again after suffering a miscarriage, middle last month. Obviously feeling overjoyed and blessed but also anxious as well! I’m 2 weeks post ovulation today and didn’t have a period between the miscarriage and getting pregnant so it may be a little tricky with dates but have it narrowed down to a 5 day window! Do they do anything different with pregnancy after a miscarriage (as in earlier scan etc) or is that only if you’ve had several? Thanks for reading!

I would advise you to ring your GP and they can do a referral early pregnancy clinic and they’ll schedule a 6 week ultrasound sometimes they might only see you if your worried or have some unusual symptoms

I got pregnant two months after my miscarriage and everything went so fast! They might be able to get you in for a 5 week scan and a blood test if you are truly worried. Any concerns or worries should be addressed by your OBGYN💕

I got pregnant straight after a miscarriage. As I'd only had one miscarriage, they wouldn't do anything extra. We went for an early scan, but paid for it. I'm glad I did, as it gave me reassurance rather than waiting until 12 weeks. My rainbow baby was born June 2022. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Thanks all! It’s my first miscarriage (already have a 2 year old) so wasn’t sure if there’s anything extra they do following one. I’m not one for stressing about things out of my control but obviously it puts you on edge more so just praying all is smooth and straightforward! I think I will pay for an early private scan which we did with our first pregnancy, it’s a long wait for that first 12 week NHS one! X

Where are you based? I’m in the UK and they only do early scans if like me you’ve had an ectopic, or recurrent miscarriage (this is from experience and what I’ve been told by the EPU) but it’s still worth asking just in case as not sure if all hospitals operate by the same policy! If not then like you say, a private early reassurance scan would be a good shout. Good luck 🌈😍

My trust doesn’t offer any early scans after a MC 😞 they said only if you’re referred by a GP or have any issues that warrant them doing one. I’m debating an early private scan for peace of mind but waiting till week 9/10 so I can hopefully see a strong heartbeat. Just hoping it isn’t bad news again as it will be the week before Christmas 🥲 x
