How long without milk

I’m leaving my 10 month old from 11-5 on Saturday. He is breastfed and I still feed on demand throughout the day. When he isn’t with me he feeds less (left him max 3 hours) but I’ve never left him for 6 hours. Is 6 hours too long without milk at 10 months? I can try and pump but it’s just faf 😂 he does eat and drink a lot! Xx

I would say pump just in case! I think 6 hours is probably a bit too long, though I can’t speak from experience and know some babies fill themselves up on solids more than others. If you’ve pumped some milk at least you know it’s there if he needs it and saves you having to come home unexpectedly x

I’d pump 15-20min just before you leave the house x

Should be fine without, offer him a feed just before you leave him and then maybe leave some yogurts or something you know he will eat while you’re away from him xx

My son is happily doing 6h with either very minimal or no milk when I’ve done some KIT days, and is going to nursery from December where he’ll likely do the same. It’s not too long at this age, with solids and water, they can be just fine- especially if he eats and drinks well! As above, feed before you leave, leave expressed milk if you can (but don’t stress if you can’t or he doesn’t take it) and then feed when you’re home.

Mines the same I only feed him morning, before lunch nap and before bed. And he’ll be without me at nursery coming January and I doubt he’ll take milk from them as he’s never taken to a bottle.

Mine happily goes 10-11 hours if I'm not there. We usually have a bottle of expressed milk in the fridge just in case but he's never had it (he doesn't really like bottles anyway). Just make sure he's being offered food and regular water for hydration and he'll be okay
