Once first turned one I offered them cows milk when they weren’t with me and continued to breastfeed. It just meant the faffing of pumping could stop. My first didn’t stop until 20 months but was only fed early morning and before bed. There’s no way my LO would have been ready. I also know mums who are shocked once their LO gets a taste for cows milk preferred that so stopped themselves.
I stopped when LO was 8 months. She just was so nosey and interested in what was happening around she would faff around feeding so much. Decided to stop and switch her to formula. Gradually dropped one breastmilk feed a day over a week or so and then pumped tiny amount each day for another 10 days until my supply stopped. She’s perfectly happy on formula and can look around while she has her bottle 😂.
Thank you ladies!!! It’s made me feel less guilty/sad. @Ruth I’m going to give your method a try as my little one sometimes does the same 🫣😭
I am the same and thinking of stopping. I am tired and I think my supply is reducing
Careful wean gradually, not just to prevent mastitis. Your hormones can affect your mood making you feel really low if stopping too suddenly. I would wean off over a few months
Yes I am thinking of stopping when she is 1 but nervous about how to do it!
