Agree with the above I’m going through the same (2nd time ..) Check allergies or intolerance (no test at this age is relevant apart of severe allergies, so is trial and error)- if bf cut off dairy, soy, wheat, egg.. and if it is that you will see an improvement (if cmpa it will settle only after 4-6 weeks to get it out of your system) If formula feeding try a special formula (eg neocate) If reflux is still persisting indeed gaviscon or omeprazole (gp prescribed) will help but is only treating the symptoms- go for that and you will see an improvement (I tried to use them in the smallest amount possible due to side effects / long term possible issues, but is your choice as you might find it is working for your family sleep) note Movicol or Lactulose will help if constipated (gp prescribed) Also know you are not alone, a lot of babies are unsettled and will only be fine/ or just less crying if held I brought a lot of baby wearing stuff (eg ring sling, slings, carriers) and this helped
In terms of soothing techniques what it works for us is tiger hold position, vacuum cleaner/fan sound, going up and down the stairs holding thr baby safely, going out in the sling (hearing cars around ) For colics I recommend colicalm (+infacol/dentinox)

First of all, you're not failing. It's tough, I could have written this myself about my son, it was 4 months of the trenches with him, turns out he has CMPA and in the end was on Alfamino with Carobel but it constipated him due to Carobel having the same proteins as Soy and he has a dairy, soy and coconut allergy. Have you looked into CMPA at all? May be worth training an allergy milk and coming off Carobel. Baby wearing also helped a ton in the first few weeks when his reflux was at its worst x
