Bottle during the night

My 8 and a half month old still wakes during the night for a bottle. Told my HV today and she was shocked and told me he shouldn’t be needing a fed throughout the night. Does anyone else’s LO do the same? Not sure if it’s a comfort thing at this point as he’s a terrible sleeper and always ends up in my bed during the night as he never settles in his cot after he’s woke

The HVs advice is really outdated. If he's hungry in the night give him a bottle. Lots of babies need food through the night still so I wouldn't not feed him. My babies breastfed rather than bottle but wakes lots in the night for food

My 8 month old girl still has 2 bottles during the night, if they are hungry and unsettle then I guess you would need to give it as I still do

Thank you for your comments! I did find her reaction strange as I just follow the cues my baby gives me and it does seem to settle him so I’ll just carry on doing what I have been

Personally if they’re hungry then it’s okay even adults wake up for a drink in the night, but I knew my lo was doing it for comfort, same time every night and I up her oz before bed, as soon as I’d give the bottle she would be falling asleep, so I cut it down completely and now she sleeps through, I dropped a oz in the bottle every night then when it got to 2 oz she wasn’t interested anymore x

I can’t believe all of the poor advice and judgmental responses I read on here from HV. So long as it’s not problematic I think it’s perfectly normal to feed a baby during the night, they’re growing so quick physically and developmentally I think it’s reasonable to feed them as much as they need. My twins are still on a dream feed (as they go to sleep at 17:00) and a night feed.
